Marianne Jansen

Obituary

Marianne Joyce was born January 13, 1931, to Anton and Mary Ann (Prussa) Tasler in Atkinson, Neb. and died on June 2, 2017 at Parkside Manor in Stuart, Neb. where she had been a resident for 4½ years.

 

She attended grade school at District 213 in Green Valley through the eighth grade. She then attended St. Joseph’s High School, graduating in 1948.

 

She taught country school for several years and then married her “soul mate” of 48½ years Edward Jansen Jr. on February 15, 1950. To this union four children were born, Sandra, Bonny, Dan, and Todd.

 

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Altar Society, Atkinson Lioness, Green Valley Extension Club, and several card clubs.

 

She owned and operated the Corral Western Store for several years. She also worked at Smith’s Department Store, and the Atkinson Livestock Market, and was secretary for the Atkinson Rodeo Association for many years.

 

She was preceded in death by her “soul mate” Ed, who died July 29, 1998; her daughter-in-law Sandra Krumm Jansen who passed away on February 2, 2000; parents Anton and Mary Tasler; parents-in-law Ed and Mary Jansen; three sisters Irene Davis, Ethel Spittler, and Florence Andrus; sisters-in-law Evelyn Skrdla and Mary Catherine Estes.

 

Marianne Joyce (Tasler) Jansen is survived by daughters Sandra (Don) Krieger of Bassett, Neb. and Bonny (Greg) Pospichal of Bassett, Neb.; sons Dan Jansen (fianceé Barb Ohde) of Atkinson, and Todd (Lori) Jansen of Branson, Missouri; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren - Mark Krieger and fiancé Stacey, and children Mason, Micah, and Kaige; Holly Krieger; Brock Pospichal and wife Kristy, and children Dolan and Lany; Amy Pospichal Greving and husband Jeremy, and children Taylan, and Treyson; Luke Pospichal and wife Holly, and children Tinley, Bristol, and Declan; Treper Jansen and fiancé Brooke; Brett, Riley, and Ashton Ohde; Amanda Jansen Stout and husband Justin, and children Jansen, Gunner, Sawyer, Kinley, and Charli; Melinda Jansen Courter and husband Aaron, and children Easton and Brinley; Wayd Jansen and wife Claire, and children Josie, and William; Mallory Jansen; sisters-in-law Irene Cobb of Stuart, and Edith Kunz of Lincoln; brother-in-law Charles Jansen of Aurora, Neb.; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

 

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Atkinson or Parkside Manor in Stuart.

Thursday June 8, 2017 at 10:30 am in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Atkinson, NE


Visitation: Wednesday June 7, 2017 from 5 to 8pm at Seger Funeral Home in Atkinson, NE with a 7pm Rosary Wednesday evening.
