Harold F. Ohde was born to George and Caroline (Albrecht) Ohde on April 8, 1929 on the family farm north of Atkinson.
Harold attended a country school and rode a horse into Atkinson to attend High School. He played football, basketball, and was a Golden Glove Boxer. There he gained the love of the Huskers. He then went to Radio Technician Schooling in Omaha, NE and worked at the Merchant Biscuit Co.
On October 28, 1949 he married Evelyn G. Friedel in Stuart, NE at St. Boniface Catholic Church. They moved to Omaha to start their married lives. In 1951 they moved back to the farm where he farmed with his family.
In 1955 they moved to a farm south of Stuart. He farmed and ranched, worked for Keating Implement driving truck and later trucked for Seger Grain & Trucking. He loved raising his cattle and took pride in a good looking hay field. He also never met a stranger. In 2013 they retired and moved into Atkinson.
Harold is survived by his wife of 69 years Evelyn of Atkinson; children Cheri Unger and her husband Bob of Bartley, NE, Patricia Osborne and her husband Dan Jeffryes of Kearney, NE, Roger Ohde of Atkinson, Connie Pascal and husband Jeff of Cranbury, NJ, and Jill Hamik and her husband Rol of Lee Summit, MO; 13 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents George & Caroline; Brothers Carl (Doris), Lewis (Helen), Edward (Rusty), Chuck (Madeline), and Georgie; Sister Clara Greig (Clarence); and a son-in-law Ronald Osborne.
